01Why DreamIT exists
Most software studios in Doha look the same on the brochure. Glass office in West Bay, a stock-photo team page, a deck full of logos that don't quite match the work shipped. Then you sign, and the senior people you met disappear into other accounts.
DreamIT exists because Qatar deserves an honest alternative. A studio you can hire once and not have to fire — built by people who ship for a living, not people who sell for a living.
We're Dream IT Qatar — the technology arm of Dream Group, a 13-company family that's been building from Dhaka and Doha since 2011. We're 60+ senior operators, 240+ projects deep, 11 in-house products live, and the rare Qatar studio that runs its own SaaS at scale instead of just billing other people for theirs.
02The 2011 Dhaka origin
I started DreamIT in Dhaka in 2011 with a small team and a single conviction: Bangladesh had world-class engineers but no studio brand that the GCC could trust. The talent gap wasn't real. The trust gap was.
The first three years were unglamorous. Custom development for local Bangladeshi SMEs. Outsourced builds for European agencies. Late nights in a Dhanmondi office figuring out how to write contracts that didn't get us screwed.
By 2015 we'd shipped 30+ projects and the early in-house products started to land. Countly went live, then MoneyBag, then Bondhon. By 2018 we had clients in Qatar, UAE, KSA and Malaysia, and the Doha pipeline was outgrowing the Dhaka one.
That's roughly when the question stopped being "can a Dhaka studio serve Qatar?" and became "why don't we just plant a flag in Doha?"
03Why we moved HQ to Qatar
Three reasons. None of them were ego.
One — clients need a Doha handshake. Qatari enterprise and government buyers will not sign a six-figure scope without sitting across a table from the person who'll be accountable. Email and Zoom don't replace majlis. We learned that the hard way.
Two — talent flows both ways. Doha is now genuinely competitive for senior product, design and AI talent — especially Arabic-fluent operators we couldn't reliably hire from Dhaka. The Qatar HQ lets us run a bilingual product team that a pure offshore model never could.
Three — proximity to the buyer is a moat. When a bank in Lusail wants a workshop tomorrow morning, you want to be 20 minutes away, not 2,500 km. Local presence isn't a vanity line on the website. It's how enterprise software actually gets sold and delivered in the GCC.
So DreamIT Qatar became the head of the company. Dhaka stayed as the engineering muscle. Madrid joined later as our EU window. The org chart looks unusual on paper. It works ridiculously well in practice.
04What we ship today
DreamIT in 2026 is structured around four practices, each led by a senior operator who's shipped real work in that space.
Apps — iOS, Android, cross-platform
Production mobile apps for Qatar founders and enterprises. Flutter and React Native for cross-platform, native Swift and Kotlin when the use case demands it. Average project ships in 10–14 weeks. See our app development service and our 2026 Qatar app pricing guide.
Web — Next.js, Laravel, Webflow
Marketing sites, web apps, dashboards, internal tools. We run a small but lethal web team that knows the difference between a landing page that converts in Doha and one that converts in Dubai. See web development services.
AI — agents, RAG, Arabic LLMs
Real production AI, not LLM-wrapper demos. We power 4UAI to 41,000 monthly active users, and we ship custom AI for Qatari banks, manpower agencies, and travel operators. See AI development and our 2026 AI trends report.
Growth — SEO, design, video
Once a product is live, somebody has to grow it. We run SEO, graphic design and video marketing for Qatar brands that need a real distribution engine, not a stock-photo content calendar.
05The Dream Group umbrella
DreamIT is one company inside Dream Group — a 13-company family covering technology, logistics, manpower, tourism, F&B and consumer products. The full breakdown lives in our Dream Group guide, but a quick map:
- DreamIT — technology and software (this site)
- Dream International — trade and logistics, Qatar and Bangladesh
- Dream Workforce — HR and manpower deployment across the GCC
- Dream Tourism — Hajj, Umrah and visa operations from Dhaka
- 4UAI, SAFAR, Countly, MoneyBag, Playr, Soulmate Go, Bondhon — in-house products
- And four more — covering F&B, education, and trading
This matters for you as a client because we have to live with what we ship. Our sister companies use our tech every day. If a feature breaks at Dream Tourism's office, my brother calls me before the bug tracker does.
06How a typical DreamIT engagement runs
Most Qatar projects with us follow the same five-step shape. We don't dress it up. It works.
Week 0 — intro call
Free 30-minute call with a founder or practice lead. Not a sales pitch. We listen, we tell you whether we're the right shop, and we recommend someone else if we're not.
Weeks 1–2 — paid discovery
QAR 15,000–25,000 for a structured 2-week discovery sprint. We come back with a written scope, design directions, a real estimate, and a go/no-go recommendation. This sprint has saved Qatar clients an average of QAR 110,000+ in avoided scope creep.
Weeks 3–14 — build
Fixed-price milestones, weekly demos, a Slack channel with your actual engineers in it (not a project-manager-as-firewall). Code in your GitHub from day one.
Weeks 15–18 — launch & hand-off
App Store and Play Store submission, web deploy, AWS or Azure setup, full documentation, a recorded handover session for your internal team. We don't disappear — but we're built so you can run without us if you want.
Ongoing — care plan
Optional monthly retainer (QAR 4,500–18,000/mo) for hosting, monitoring, security patches, minor features. Cancel anytime.
07Recent Qatar wins
A few things we've shipped from the Doha studio in the last 18 months, anonymised because client NDAs are real:
- A Lusail-based logistics operator — driver app, dispatcher dashboard, customer portal. Replaced three legacy SaaS subscriptions, saved QAR 380,000/year.
- A West Bay private bank — multi-agent AI for AML alert triage. Investigation time dropped from 40 minutes to 3 minutes per alert.
- A Pearl-based F&B group — unified ordering app across 7 restaurants. Online revenue up 2.4× in 90 days.
- A Doha manpower agency — full HR-tech rebuild + Arabic-language candidate screening AI. Cost-per-hire down 61%.
- SAFAR (in-house) — AI operating system for travel and visa agencies. Now live with operators across Qatar, Bangladesh and Malaysia. See SAFAR.
08Why founders pick us over agencies
Across the last 50 Qatar pitches we've won, the same three reasons come up.
1. We ship our own products
Most Doha "tech companies" are billing arms — they make money when consultants stay billable. We have 11 of our own products with real users, real revenue and real churn. That changes everything about how we scope and build.
2. The senior people you meet are the ones who do the work
If you have a discovery call with our Head of AI, she's the one writing the eval harness — not a sales engineer holding her business card. Our model breaks if we lie about who's doing what.
3. Doha presence, Dhaka rates
You get the local accountability of a Qatar HQ with the economics of senior engineering out of Bangladesh. A Tier-2 production app from us typically lands 55–65% below a local Doha agency quote for the same scope. See our cost guide for the full benchmark table.
4. We say no
If we don't think a project will succeed, we say so. If your idea would be better as a no-code build on Bubble or Glide, we tell you and we walk away. Founders remember that — and they refer.
09How to start a project with DreamIT Qatar
Three ways in, in order of how soon you want to talk:
- Book the 30-minute intro. Pick a slot here. Either myself or a practice lead will take the call. No deck, no script.
- Email us the brief. hello@mydreamit.dev — we reply within one Doha business day with a scoped, written response.
- Read first, talk later. Start with our about page, the Dream Group breakdown, our full blog, and the 2026 ranking of Qatar app studios.
If you're a Qatar founder or operator and you want a studio that ships, not a sales team that talks — book a 30-minute call. We'll either be the right fit or we'll point you to someone who is.
