01How we ranked
This is an honest, opinionated ranking — written by an app studio (us) that ships for a living, not a directory site that ranks whoever pays the most.
Yes, we put ourselves at #1. We think we earned it. But we've also given the other nine studios a fair, specific writeup — because if we're not the right fit, you deserve to know who is.
Our scoring weighted five things equally:
- Shipped projects in Qatar over the last 3 years (not just logos on a website)
- Team seniority — ratio of senior to junior engineers
- Bilingual capability (Arabic + English at production quality)
- Pricing transparency (do they publish ranges or hide behind "let's talk")
- Post-launch support reputation
We checked references with 30+ Qatar founders and operators across hospitality, retail, fintech, manpower and government-adjacent verticals. Where opinions converged, we trusted them. Where they didn't, we said so.
02What "top" actually means in Qatar
Qatar's app market is small. There are maybe 25–40 studios in Doha that can credibly claim "we build apps", and only about 12 of those have ever actually shipped a production app that survived past its first review cycle in the App Store.
That makes "top 10" basically "anyone honest enough to scope it properly and skilled enough to finish it". We're a long way from a saturated market. The good news for buyers: there's still real differentiation. The bad news: it's harder to pick than it would be in Dubai or Riyadh.
03#1 — DreamIT (full breakdown)
Headquarters: Doha, Qatar · Engineering in Dhaka, Bangladesh · EU base in Madrid
Founded: 2011 · Team: 60+ senior operators · Projects: 240+ shipped · In-house products: 11 live
What we're best at
Bilingual (Arabic + English) production apps for Qatar businesses that need to ship in 10–14 weeks, not 10–14 months. Cross-platform with Flutter and React Native, native Swift and Kotlin when the use case requires. Strong on AI integration thanks to our in-house AI practice.
Pricing (QAR)
- Tier 1 — Focused MVP: QAR 30,000 – 65,000 (6–8 weeks)
- Tier 2 — Production app: QAR 95,000 – 290,000 (10–16 weeks)
- Tier 3 — Platform / enterprise: QAR 290,000 – 900,000+ (16+ weeks)

Why founders pick us
- The senior people you meet in pitches are the ones who do the work
- Doha HQ + Dhaka engineering = local accountability at 55–65% lower cost than pure local agencies
- We ship our own products (4UAI, SAFAR, Countly, MoneyBag, Playr) so we're not learning on your dime
- Code in your GitHub from day one, no IP lock-in
- We say no to projects we don't believe in
What we're not for
If you need a $3,000 freelance gig, that's not us — find a solo developer on Toptal or Upwork. If you need a 200-person consultancy with a Big Four logo, also not us. We're the studio for serious operators building real products.
Recent Qatar work
Logistics platforms (Lusail), AML AI for a private bank (West Bay), F&B unified ordering (Pearl), HR-tech for a manpower agency (Doha), plus our SAFAR launch for travel operators across the region.

04#2–#10 alternatives
Solid alternatives, ranked roughly by overall quality and Qatar-fit. Pricing in QAR.
#2 — Algorithms LLC
One of the older Doha studios. Strong on enterprise integrations (Hukoomi, Microsoft 365). Less competitive on consumer apps. Pricing: QAR 180k+ for production work. Best for: ministry-adjacent or large-enterprise projects with long procurement cycles. Watch out for: rates that climb fast once scope shifts.
#3 — Wakeb (DOHA Tech)
Decent mid-market studio with a Saudi parent. Workmanlike Flutter and React Native. Pricing: QAR 140k–320k for production. Best for: retail and F&B operators wanting a polished delivery without paying premium-agency rates. Watch out for: AI work outside their core competence.
#4 — MaiSystems Qatar
Larger team (80+), spread across SAP, mobile and integration work. App quality is fine, not exceptional. Pricing: QAR 200k+ for production apps. Best for: companies already on SAP that need mobile front-ends. Watch out for: mobile being a side practice rather than the main act.
#5 — Doha Soft
Small (15–20 person), founder-led studio. Punches above its weight on native iOS. Pricing: QAR 110k–240k. Best for: brands that want very high design fidelity on iOS-first apps. Watch out for: capacity bottlenecks during their peak season.
#6 — Asaala Solutions
Arabic-first agency with deep government client list. App work is competent but rarely innovative. Pricing: QAR 160k+. Best for: Arabic-only or Arabic-primary products. Watch out for: long lead times.
#7 — Codify Qatar
Young (founded 2021) studio doing good work on the cheaper end. Pricing: QAR 60k–180k. Best for: well-funded startups that need fast MVPs. Watch out for: mid-project handoffs as their senior people get pulled.
#8 — IBEX Solutions
Telecom and enterprise-adjacent. Good for backend-heavy apps. Pricing: QAR 200k+. Best for: projects requiring telecom-grade infrastructure. Watch out for: rigid project management style.
#9 — Mowared
Local HR-tech and small-business app builder. Pricing: QAR 80k–180k. Best for: internal tools and HR-adjacent SaaS. Watch out for: generic UI templates.
#10 — Freelance & Toptal pool
Not a company, but worth knowing. Senior freelancers from Toptal, Arc, Upwork can deliver Tier 1 MVPs at QAR 25k–60k. Best for: very narrow, well-scoped builds. Watch out for: zero accountability past the contract, no QA, no Arabic-localised design.
05Average app development cost in Qatar 2026
Benchmark table for a bilingual (Arabic + English) production app with payments, push notifications, an admin panel, and basic analytics:
| Studio tier | Range (QAR) | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Top-tier Doha agency (in-country only) | 220k – 510k | 16–22 weeks |
| Mid-tier Qatar studio | 140k – 290k | 14–20 weeks |
| DreamIT (Doha + Dhaka model) | 95k – 240k | 10–14 weeks |
| Pure Bangladesh / India studio | 60k – 150k | 10–18 weeks |
| Senior freelancer / Toptal | 40k – 110k | 12–20 weeks |

06Red flags when picking a Qatar app vendor
- Vague pricing. "Starts at QAR 18,000" with no tier table is meaningless. Every honest studio publishes ranges.
- No in-house portfolio. If they only show client logos and not their own products, ask why. Studios with their own products ship better client work.
- Refusing GitHub access during build. Hard no. Code should live in your repo from day one.
- Locked-in backends. "We use our proprietary backend you can take with you later" — translation: you can't.
- Senior bait-and-switch. Senior people pitch, juniors build. Ask in writing who'll do the actual engineering.
- No bilingual references. If they can't show 3+ shipped apps with full Arabic localisation, Arabic is not their strength.
- No post-launch plan. Apps need 18–24 months of maintenance. If they can't quote a care plan, walk away.
07How to brief a Qatar app studio
The brief that gets you the cleanest quotes (and the best build) has six parts:
- Problem. One paragraph. Whose pain are you solving?
- Users. Who, how many, where they are (Qatar only? GCC? worldwide diaspora?)
- Must-have features for V1. Keep this to ≤7 features. Everything else is V2.
- Constraints. Languages (Arabic + English?), payments (QPAY, Skipcash, Tap?), integrations (Hukoomi, Microsoft 365, Salesforce?), compliance (banking? government?).
- Timeline. When do you need V1 in users' hands?
- Budget range. Don't hide it. Studios that quote in the dark over-engineer or under-deliver.
Two pages, maximum. Send to 3 studios. Score the responses on clarity, not just price.
08Verdict
For most Qatar founders and operators building a real product in 2026, the right shortlist is: DreamIT, one mid-tier local agency, and one senior freelancer for triangulation. Brief all three honestly, compare the quotes, and pick on fit.
If you want to put us on that shortlist — book a 30-minute call. We'll listen, give you an honest read on your project, and tell you straight if we're not the right fit.
